(I think i was thinking of how saddened i was to be wearing pastel blue fleece with a white teddy bear, rather then a black matte leather ripped underwear, eyeliner and random pieces of metal…hence the expression on my face, a picture says a thousand words lol)
What is a Boy Toy? is it a young man that is
considered a sexual object?….For the most part
Yes…yes it is. But what and who is THE Boy Toy?
The answer is much more complex. The Boy Toy can be
anything you want him to be,He is versatility, but
he choses to who he wants to be.
“Im an artist with a heavy sexual presence
but i play many different roles in my artistic endeavors,
having the versatility of an something like an action figure that can transform
into almost anything, the public gets to witness it, but im in control of it.”
The Bronx,New York
isn’t only the birthplace of hip hop,
On September 15th,1986 it was also
the birthplace of The Boy Toy,Tyreak.
He has lived in many
parts of the bronx but grew up in Edenwald and
Parkchester projects.
He experienced constant exposure to crime, violence
drugs and thug mentality, luckily he never fell to
deep into anything messy. But growing up in those
areas
did teach him alot on how he didn’t want his life
to turn out like.
Growing up he had no
real male or female influence in his life, and was
quite alone socially, so pop culture and theory
became his best friend. “I would listen and
sing to music, read, write and enlighten myself on
things that I didn’t understand about the world
and by doing this i basically became his own
psychologist.” Tyreak matured in a way that enabled
him to be extremely open minded and determined he
already had a natural knack for the art of
sketching, paint, music ,writing and dance but his
curiosity for understanding different parts of the
human psyche allowed him to appreciate just about
all forms of art including the art of photography,
fashion and modeling.
All of which he incorporates into his videos and
performances.
Tyreak has been posing and performing since he
could walk, often imitating the likes of michael
jackson, Prince and Rick James. His moves would attract
attention from who ever caught a glimpse, although
the attention was great, Tyreak was just doing what
came natural to him,but in 2004 he decided to take
all of his bottled up talent that until then was
mostly just seen by himself in the mirror and
reflect it for the rest of the world to see.
He was ready to take the world by storm, he knew a
9 to 5 wasn’t for him,entertaining was what he
loved. So the day after he got his diploma he was
on the plane to hollywood…and was a starving
artist for a few months, needless to say cali wasn’t
a success, so he moved back to Ny and got a 9 to
5,doing data entry. He realized he needed a plan.
Tyreak soon realized all of the possibilities and
networking opportunities the Internet had,and used
it to its fullest potential.
He knew the best way to get attention was to take
whats hot at the moment and make it his own.
Ciara,Usher,Beyonce,Chris Brown,and Snap music were
all the hot commodities, and those were the artist
he would do videos to, he did them well and got
plenty of views.
Tyreak was enjoying his popularity on the
Internet but had bigger and better planss and was
desperate to show that he is not
only an inciting dancer but full on entertainer.
It took him a long while to acquire resources to
record his music but once he did.
Tyreak then made a trippy club instrumental and
wrote accompanied lyrics. Inspired by all things
random Crash N Smash was created. heavy
electronic house mixed with hip hop and grimy
lyrics and an oddly seductive horror theme.
It was his first recorded track and set the tone
for the others.
Dynamic and outside the Box. “The Boy Toy Factory”
is not for the faint at heart or close minded, but
for those that love the club. Heavy
electronic futuristic house music with a twist of
hip hop and R & B, Tyreak’s High
energy,explicit,edgy,free spirited,sometimes
twisted,no holds barred lyrical,production,delivery
and performance style is sure to be an experience
like no other. Some have said its A healthy legal
alternative to an ecstasy pill with out all the bad
side effects.
“Most of my material i have produced, arranged and
engineered myself, on a laptop. Its basically a
club theme album but its not typical, its very
aggressive but also seductive,edgy,risky,and
graphic but its actually just a portion of the
Factory as whole And i have plenty more songs
written, alot of the ones that i have written but
not recorded yet are alot more personal, much like
my blogs…they give more insight on my struggles
and philosophy. But im saving them for a future
project”
With a fanbase of a few thousand between myspace
and youtube. Tyreak hopes to one day soon shut the
mouths of the critics who says he will never be
able to go mainstream and take his exceptional
unique style above the underground But for now he
is is gearing up for a promotional bliss,Performing
at local clubs in the Baltimore/D.C. area as well
as N.Y. and ATL he plans to hit radio by the
summer.
The Boy Toy Take Over seems inevitable in the coming years,
The 22 year old has already accomplished more in the
entertainment industry then he may realize.
Writing,producing,recording,engineering,performing,
modeling,sketching,fashion design,
photography,acting,choreography,singing,rapping
directing, spoken word…and the list goes on…and
on. His few thousand fans will soon turn into
millions and in a world that seems to be ad-mist
Armageddon, he may be one of the worlds last icons.
Lets not forget…Its Boy Toy…Bitch
“The amount of emotion and thought a picture or
song can potentially provoke is so amazing. Pop
culture icons, independent artist and anyone who’s
been through something and became great, inspired
me to continue to live and pursue my dreams when i
had no one else,Music and fashion were always there
for me and I truly feel as long as I stay on my
grind I will be in the position to inspire others
to realize and pursue they’re dream not give up on
life either”
